Meet Tina

My full name is Kristina Ebsen, MA, LMFT, ATR. I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a Clinical Art Therapist practicing, primarily, out of Newbury Park and Camarillo, California. I specialize in person-centered work with people struggling to find contentment, meaning, and balance in their lives.
In clinical art therapy we use the art making and the discussion resulting from processing your experience and imagery in the art to give us a deeper understanding and valuable insight. You can learn much more art therapy here.
Education & Training
I completed my undergraduate work in Psychology locally at California State University, Channel Islands before earning a Master of Arts in Marital & Family Therapy, with a specialization in Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. As part of my rigorous education and training, I gained experience working with adults, teens, children, and families in individual and group settings and with a variety of challenges including severe and chronic mental illness and offered clinical service as a graduate student at a girls orphanage in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. After taking time off to start a family, I completed my required internships in a school and clinical settings, then in my clinical practice at IGNITE! before obtaining licensure in 2017.
Professional Work
In my workday, when I’m not seeing clients, I’m the Clinical Director for IGNITE Collective, Inc. (IGNITE!) a local non-profit that offers meaningful programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. I oversee programming in Ventura County. At the heart of this work is Kindling Studios, a working art studio for a collective of adult artists housed at Studio Channel Islands in Old Town Camarillo.
